Paris will have the honour of hosting the Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2024 and with the focus on innovation and sustainable development, it is sure to be an extraordinary accelerator of growth and international reach.

Fully committed to the process of ecological transition, the smart city charmed the International Olympic Committee by proposing innovative, intelligent solutions for the organisation of this major international event. In the spirit of the COP21 Paris Climate Agreement, a number of commitments were made aimed at promoting a clean and responsible Games: gas emissions will be tightly controlled, and all event sites will be accessible by ecological means of transport, while the water quality of the Seine will be improved for the Triathlon and open-water swimming events. These exemplary demands have guided the Paris project, which intends to leave the city’s residents a legacy of quality, sustainable infrastructure.

In fact, already boasting a wide range of sporting infrastructure, Paris is committed to the concept of long term development with the construction of new facilities and accommodation that will prove useful to residents.

Built across 50 hectares, the Olympic and Paralympic Village will host 17,000 people, 10,000 of whom will be athletes. Eager to give a second life to the facilities, the project aims to completely regenerate the site to make way for 3,000 homes, 2 hotels, 100,000 sq m for business activity and 12,000 sq m for services. A genuine urban renewal project, this regeneration is testimony to the unique opportunity that the Olympic and Paralympic Games represents when it comes to consolidating the region’s economic appeal, especially in North Grand Paris with the building of 4500 housing, an aquatic center, and a new arena.

The quality of the transport network is another key asset when it comes to organising Olympic and Paralympic events, with the renovation of much of the existing infrastructure and the acceleration of the roll-out of the Grand Paris Express. The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are acting as a catalyst in the deep transformation process that is underway throughout the Paris Region area, and as such represents a vehicle for exceptional investment opportunities.
